This page is a hot tub dimensions checker. It lists hot tub sizes from the product pages of two makers, Hot Spring and Bullfrog Spas, and shows which models fit a space you type in. For each model, you see the seats, size, water capacity, dry weight and filled weight that its page gives. The list covers ten models, from 3 to 10 seats. Nothing is averaged and no prices are shown. The tool runs in your browser, is free, needs no sign-up, and does not upload anything. Use it to narrow down models, then check the maker’s own specifications for your region, because the makers say availability and specifications vary by region.

How to use the hot tub dimensions tool

  1. Enter a whole number in “People it must seat”.
  2. Type your space in “Space available, length” and “Space available, width”. Choose ft, in, m or cm for each number.
  3. In “Room to leave on each side”, type the clearance you want, using in, ft, cm or m. Enter 0 to leave none.
  4. Read “Smallest listed model that seats them” to see the smallest model with enough seats.
  5. Check “Listed models that fit your space” to see which models fit once side room is counted.
  6. Look at “Listed models that seat that many” for every model with your seat count.
  7. Read “Heaviest filled weight listed” for the top figure in the current results.
  8. Open the table headed “Listed models that seat … or more”. Use the “Fits your space” column, and compare filled weights only within one maker.

Each row of the table shows the seats, the size as length x width x height, the water in gallons, the dry weight and the filled weight. To start quickly, use a preset: 3 people in 8 x 7 ft, 4 people in 8 x 8 ft, 6 people in 10 x 10 ft, or 8 people in 12 x 12 ft. If you ask for more than 10 seats, the tool shows an error.

How does the fit check decide if a hot tub fits?

A model fits when its length and width, plus twice the side room you entered, fit inside your space. The tool tests both ways round, so a model can fit when turned sideways. In short:

  • Needed length = model length + 2 × side room
  • Needed width = model width + 2 × side room

For example, a 7 x 6 ft space with no side room fits only the Hot Spring Jetsetter LX (84 x 68 in) among the 3-person models. The tub is 84 x 68 in and the space is 84 x 72 in, so the length is an exact fit. Add 2 in on each side, and the Jetsetter needs 88 x 72 in. At that clearance, no 3-person model fits. Because the tool converts every unit before it compares, you can mix ft, in, m and cm in the same check.

Why are filled weights hard to compare between makers?

Filled weights are on different bases. Hot Spring’s figure includes water and an adult of 175 lb for every seat. The Bullfrog pages do not say what their maximum includes. For that reason, the page says to compare filled weights within a single maker only.

Filled weight per ft² is the filled weight divided by length × width. It is simple arithmetic. For the Calm 6, 3,301 lb over 6 ft 6 in × 6 ft 6 in (42.25 ft²) gives 78.1. The Flair gives 96.3 (4,720 ÷ 49), and the Jetsetter LX gives 78.8 (3,125 ÷ 39.7). This figure is not the maker’s pad figure, and it is not an engineering value.

The maker’s pad figure is a different number. Hot Spring’s 2023 Highlife pre-delivery instructions say the Grandee needs a minimum 4 in reinforced concrete pad or a deck able to withstand more than 125 lb/ft², and 115 lb/ft² for the Jetsetter. The page gives no pad figure for the other models, so check your model’s documents for that number.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the exact sizes and weights for the hot tub I want to buy?

No. The figures come from the two makers’ product pages, and the makers say availability and specifications vary by region. Check the documents for the model you plan to buy.

Why does the Calm 6 show 6 seats when its page mentions 7?

The Calm 6 page says 6 total seats and 7 available seats. The tool lists it as a 6-seat model.

Can I check for more than 10 people?

No. The list runs from 3 to 10 seats. A request for more than 10 seats shows an error.

What does 0 in “Room to leave on each side” do?

It leaves no side room, so the fit check compares the model’s length and width directly with your space.

Can I leave the space fields empty?

Yes. Clear the length and width numbers and the tool skips the fit check. It still lists the models that seat your number of people, with their sizes and weights, and the “Fits your space” column shows a dash.

Does the tool average the models or show prices?

No. Nothing is averaged, and no prices are shown.

Why does the Bullfrog M6 spec table show 387 gallons twice?

The M6 page repeats 387 gallons in the dry weight row of its spec table. Its 800 lb dry weight comes from its overview.
